    Diesel Repair in Southern Utah

Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins service built around how diesels actually work here — heat, grades, and loaded trailers.

    Call 435-256-8899

A diesel that spends its life climbing out of the Virgin River Gorge, towing a loaded trailer up I-15 toward Cedar City, or idling through errands in Washington in 110-degree heat is not the same truck the maintenance schedule was written for. We diagnose and service Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins around the way Southern Utah actually uses them.

    DieselServices

    Diesel Diagnostics

OE-level scan tool diagnosis of hard starts, low power, smoke, derates and check-engine codes. We find the failed component before parts get replaced.

    Fuel System Service

Injectors, high-pressure pumps, lift pumps, filters and water separators. Fuel quality and contamination are common culprits here.

    Cooling System Service

Radiators, water pumps, coolant condition and hoses. Sustained grade climbs in summer heat are the hardest thing a diesel cooling system does.

    Diesel Oil & Maintenance

Diesel-specific oil service, fuel and air filter intervals, DEF system service, and fluid checks matched to how the truck is driven.

    Air Filtration & Intake

Desert dust loads a diesel air filter far faster than the interval assumes. We check restriction, not just mileage.

    Heavy-Truck Brakes, Steering & Alignment

Loaded three-quarter and one-ton trucks on Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment equipment, plus brake and steering service sized for the weight.

    Built For HowDiesels Work Here

    Sustained Grades and EGT

The pull out of the Virgin River Gorge and the climb north on I-15 toward Cedar City are long, sustained, high-load ascents. That's when exhaust gas temperature, transmission temperature and coolant all peak at once.

Trucks that feel fine around town show their weak points on a grade with a trailer behind them. When a diesel comes in with a heat complaint, we want to know what it was pulling, how long the climb was, and what the gauges showed — that context usually points straight at the failure.

    Short Trips and Incomplete Regeneration

A diesel that mostly runs errands around Washington and St George may never get hot enough, for long enough, to finish a diesel particulate filter regeneration. Interrupted regens stack up, soot loads the filter, and the truck eventually derates or throws a code.

It looks like a failed part; often it's a driving-pattern problem. We read the regen history and soot load before condemning anything, and we'll tell you honestly if the fix is a longer highway run rather than a repair. When emissions components have genuinely failed, we repair or replace them to factory specification.

    Heat, Dust and Fuel

Summer pavement here runs well over 110 degrees, and the air carries fine desert dust year-round. Air filters load faster than the mileage interval assumes, coolant works harder, and water separators earn their keep.

We check filter restriction and fuel quality by condition rather than by odometer, because the calendar doesn't know what your truck has been breathing.

    PlatformsWe Service

    • Ford Power Stroke — 7.3L, 6.0L, 6.4L, 6.7L
    • GM Duramax — LB7, LBZ, LMM, LML, L5P
    • Ram Cummins — 5.9L 12-valve and 24-valve, 6.7L

Our technicians are ASE Master and ASE-Certified, with factory training through Jeep, Dodge and Ram programs. Across all three diesel platforms, we work from generation-specific failure patterns and OE-level diagnostic data.

    EmissionsSystems

We repair and service diesel emissions systems — DPF, EGR, DEF and related sensors — to factory specification. We do not perform emissions deletes or removals of any kind. Keeping the system working correctly is what keeps the truck legal, reliable and able to pass inspection.

    WarningSigns

    • Hard starting, extended cranking, or a no-start
    • Noticeable power loss, especially under load or towing
    • Black, white, or blue smoke
    • Check-engine light, reduced-power mode, or a derate
    • Coolant or exhaust temperatures climbing on grades
    • Repeated or incomplete regeneration cycles
    • Fuel in the oil, or oil level rising
    • Rough idle or a knock that changes with load

    Free Automotive Vehicle Inspection

Not sure where to start? Our courtesy multi-point inspection covers brakes, tires, battery, lights and fluid levels, and you get a photo report sent to your phone. No wrench, no diagnostics — just a straight look at where the truck stands.

    Frequently AskedQuestions

Do you work on diesel trucks?

Yes. Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins — daily drivers, work trucks and tow rigs. Diagnostics, fuel systems, cooling, maintenance, brakes, steering and alignment.

How often should a diesel be serviced in Southern Utah?

More often than the book says if the truck tows, idles a lot, or runs dusty roads. Heat and dust are the two variables the factory interval doesn't account for here. We check air filter restriction, fuel and coolant condition by inspection rather than by odometer, and we'll tell you what actually needs doing.

My truck goes into reduced power on the freeway. What causes that?

A derate usually traces to emissions, fuel, or a sensor — a loaded diesel particulate filter, a DEF system fault, low rail pressure, or a turbo or boost problem. The code narrows it down; the live data confirms it. We diagnose before replacing anything, because the parts on a modern diesel are expensive enough that guessing is not a strategy.

    Do you do emissions deletes?

No. We repair and service emissions systems to factory specification, and we don't remove them. A properly working system is what keeps the truck legal and reliable.

Can you service my truck if it's lifted or on larger tires?

Yes. We align lifted three-quarter and one-ton trucks on Hunter Hawkeye Elite equipment and service brakes and steering sized to the weight and tire package. Larger tires change how the truck stops, steers and wears — we set it up for how it's actually built.

Do you service diesel trucks that tow to Sand Hollow?

Regularly. Towing changes what fails and when — cooling, transmission temperature, brakes and exhaust temperature all take more load. Tell us what you tow and how often and we'll service the truck around that instead of a generic schedule.

Is diesel work covered by your warranty?

Qualifying automotive repairs carry our 36-month/36,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, honored at participating shops nationwide. Preventive maintenance, tires and batteries are excluded. Ask us what applies to your specific repair — the full terms are on our warranty page.
