The person who diagnoses a truck, sets a caster angle, or rebuilds a shock here is the person a family in Washington is trusting with the vehicle they depend on. We hire for that.
What that looks like in practice is experienced technicians and advisors who diagnose rather than guess, who document what they find with photos, and who will stop a job and say something is not right before it leaves the building. We want people who care how a vehicle looks going out, not only whether it runs. Quality work is the product here — everything else follows from it.
Our technicians are factory trained master mechanics. The collective knowledge of the professionals at MST Motorsports is over eighty years of automotive, auto repair, maintenance, customizing and accessory knowledge combined. New people join that. The voice of the shop. Write-up, estimating and customer communication, both sides of the building.
Automotive maintenance, repair and custom work — gas and diesel, daily drivers and built rigs. This is a producing seat: we're looking for a technician who can take a ticket, diagnose it and finish it without someone standing over the fender. Whatever rolls through the door gets worked on, so the week doesn't repeat itself.
What you'd be doing
- •Diagnostics — engine, brake, electrical, cooling and drivability, gas and diesel
- •Alignments, including lifted vehicles, on our in-house equipment
- •Suspension and steering — lift kits, leveling, replacement and correction
- •Diesel service — Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins, including fuel systems
- •Photo-documented digital inspections during service and repair
- •Accessory and add-on installation — lighting, bumpers, racks, wheels and tires
Who Fits Here
- •3+ years turning wrenches in a shop
- •You diagnose rather than parts-swap — you can read a scan tool and a wiring diagram and say what's actually wrong
- •Solid across maintenance, brakes, steering and suspension, A/C and general repair
- •Comfortable on both gas and diesel
- •Some accessory and custom experience — lifts, wheels and tires, lighting and bumpers
- •Certifications welcome, and we'll want you continuing to build them
- •Valid driver's license and a clean enough record to move customer vehicles
- •Willingness to keep training — we offer training opportunities local and out of state, and we'll want you involved in them
- •The judgment to stop a job and say something isn't right before it goes out the door

Where it goes
Lead technician and diagnostic specialist are both real paths here. As the automotive side grows, the person who built it gets first look at running it.
Skills
UTVs and side-by-sides — Polaris and Can-Am through Kawasaki and beyond. Service, repair and custom work happen here: shock rebuilds, clutch and CVT, suspension setup, and accessory installs. This seat covers the whole machine rather than one corner of it.
What you'd be doing
- •Clutch and CVT service and tuning — sand, rock and trail setups
- •Full shock rebuilds, revalving and setup, in-house
- •Suspension geometry, alignment and ride setup on side-by-sides
- •Electrical diagnostics, accessory and lighting installs, audio and whip wiring
- •Gear reduction, axles, tires and wheels
- •Trail prep and pre-trip inspections for customers heading to Sand Hollow and Sand Mountain
Who Fits Here
- •Powersports experience at any level — side-by-sides, UTVs, ATVs or comparable mechanical work. Almost nobody arrives in this valley already knowing side-by-sides, so if you're mechanically strong and want this work, we'll train you into it.
- •Hands-on with clutches — you know what a weight and spring change does before you make it
- •Suspension instinct: you can hear a setup problem in how a customer describes it and know where to start
- •Electrical work clean enough to survive a season of dust
- •Brand or factory training is a plus, not a requirement
- •Valid driver's license
- •You care how the machine looks going out, not just whether it runs

Lead powersports technician, with specialist depth on shocks and clutch tuning.
Skills
You're the voice of the shop. Advisors here talk to owners, not ticket numbers. Every job carries a photo-documented digital inspection, so your conversation is about what the inspection found. You'd work both sides of the building — automotive customers and powersports customers getting ready for the next trip.
What you'd be doing
- •Greet the customer, get the real complaint, and put it on the ticket in a form the technician can use
- •Build accurate estimates and get approval before work starts
- •Run the board: schedule, keep the bays fed, and know where every job stands
- •Proactive updates by phone and two-way text, especially when a job changes
- •Present inspection findings with the photos and let the customer decide
- •Keep clean, complete tickets and warranty documentation
- •Source parts and follow up so a job doesn't stall waiting on a box
Who Fits Here
- •Advising, parts or service-counter experience at any level — automotive knowledge is a strong plus, not a requirement
- •Enough curiosity about how a vehicle works to get credible with the technician and the customer alike — we'll teach the rest
- •Clear on the phone, clear in writing, and able to deliver news nobody wants to hear
- •Organized under pressure — a full board on a Friday doesn't rattle you
- •Comfortable in shop management software — digital inspections, job costing and parts ordering
- •Straight answers. We'd rather lose a ticket than a customer's trust.

About Us
MST Motorsports is a family-owned and operated shop in Washington, Utah, minutes from Sand Hollow State Park, serving Southern Utah since 2020. We do automotive maintenance, repair and custom work — gas and diesel, daily drivers and built rigs — alongside powersports service for UTVs and side-by-sides. Diagnostics, brakes, engine, cooling and electrical, A/C, alignment, suspension and lift work, wheels and tires, accessories and add-ons, and clutch and shock work on the powersports bench. What You Work With Here
A good technician is faster and more accurate with the right equipment behind them, and the equipment here is the kind a customer would want to hear about too. The alignment bay runs a Hunter HawkEye Elite, an imaging-based system that reads camber, caster, toe, thrust angle and ride height on stock vehicles and on lifted or modified trucks and Jeeps with altered geometry. The tire bay is built around a Hunter Road Force balancer, which presses a load roller against the spinning tire to simulate the weight of the vehicle on the road and finds the vibration a standard spin balance leaves behind.
We run OEM factory scan tools for Polaris and Can-Am — the same diagnostic access the dealer has on those platforms — and scan tool and scope coverage across gas, diesel and hybrid platforms on the automotive side, from Power Stroke, Cummins and Duramax diesels to modern GDI gas engines. Shock work happens on an in-house shock bench for teardown, reseal, re-valve and nitrogen recharge. You can see the full picture on our equipment and facility page.
The work itself runs from daily drivers to built rigs — maintenance, diagnostics, brakes, cooling and electrical, A/C, alignment, suspension and lift work, wheels and tires, accessories, and clutch and shock work on the powersports bench. Training continues after you are hired, local and out of state, and we want our technicians in it. Between the automotive floor and the powersports bench, the week does not repeat itself.
