    Not Every ShopUnderstands 4x4

    Lifted Geometry Changes Everything

Caster, pinion angle, and CV angle all need correction after a lift. A standard alignment shop may not recognize when geometry has exceeded factory adjustment range — and that's when parts start wearing out fast.

    Drivetrain Stress Is Real

Lockers, larger tires, and more torque put stress on axles and transfer cases that stock-spec repairs don't account for. We build and repair drivetrains for the loads they'll actually see off-road.

    Terrain-Specific Setup

A build for Sand Hollow sand is different from a build for Hurricane Cliffs rocks. We set up suspension, alignment, and drivetrain for the terrain you actually drive — because Southern Utah has more than one kind of trail.

    Frequently AskedQuestions

What is a 4x4 specialist vs a regular mechanic?

A 4x4 specialist understands lifted geometry, drivetrain stress from larger tires and lockers, off-road terrain demands, and the interaction between suspension, alignment, and drivetrain. A general mechanic can handle basic repairs but often misses geometry correction, pinion angle, and CV joint angles that matter on lifted vehicles.

Do you service stock (non-lifted) 4WD vehicles?

Yes. Transfer cases, differentials, front axle service, and alignment on stock 4WD trucks and Jeeps are all part of our regular service menu. You don't need a lift kit to get dealer-quality 4x4 service at MST.

How often should a lifted 4x4 be realigned?

After any suspension change, tire size change, or if you notice uneven wear, pulling, or a wandering steering feel. At minimum, we recommend an alignment check annually if you're regularly off-road — impacts and terrain shift angles faster than highway driving.

Do you work on diesel 4x4 trucks?

Yes — Ford Power Stroke, Ram Cummins, and Chevy/GMC Duramax all come through the shop for drivetrain, suspension, and alignment work. Heavy diesel 4x4s place even more stress on axles and suspension components, so proper setup matters even more.
