MST Motorsports services UTVs, side-by-sides (SXS), and powersports vehicles — Polaris, Can-Am & Kawasaki specialists. We also take on Honda and Yamaha work — call ahead and we'll confirm the fit. We provide complete diagnostics, repair, and service at our Washington, UT shop, and our technicians understand the specific mechanical demands these platforms face in Southern Utah terrain. Our shop sits in Washington County, so the machines on our lifts come from Washington, St. George, Hurricane, Ivins, Santa Clara, La Verkin and Leeds, and most of them run at Sand Hollow.

Many of the machines we service are used regularly at Sand Hollow State Park, where red sand dunes on Sand Mountain, technical slickrock, rock crawling terrain, and desert trails put extreme stress on clutches, belts, shocks, cooling systems, and drivetrains. We approach every powersports repair with the goal of keeping these machines reliable for the conditions they actually operate in. You'll get a timeline before we start. Side-by-side and truck service runs out of the same building, so the machine and the truck that hauls it can be handled on one visit.

Diagnostics, Repair & Service in Washington County

Modern side-by-sides are complex machines with electronic fuel injection, power steering, multiple drive modes, and sophisticated suspension systems. When something goes wrong — whether it's a check engine light, a power loss, an unusual noise, or a handling change — proper diagnostics are essential.

For Polaris and Can-Am we run OEM factory scan tools — the same diagnostic access the dealer has on those platforms. That means live ECU data, calibration and service routines, and fault information that generic OBD scanners cannot see on a side-by-side. Reading live data and stored codes off the machine — rather than reading a generic code and guessing — is what narrows an electrical or fuel-delivery complaint down to a part. On other platforms we use powersports diagnostic scan equipment plus hands-on inspection. See our equipment & facility for details.

Our repair and service work covers engine diagnostics, drivetrain repair, axle and CV joint service, cooling system maintenance, brake service, and steering diagnostics. We work on trail machines, dune runners, work-side-by-sides, and everything in between.

Clutch Repair, Service & CVT Tuning

The CVT clutch system is one of the hardest-working components on any side-by-side, and it's one of the most common failure points we see — especially on machines that ride Sand Hollow regularly. Sand riding puts sustained high-RPM load on the primary and secondary clutches, generating heat that degrades belts and accelerates wear, which is why a new belt on its own is usually only a symptom fix.

We perform complete clutch repair, service, and CVT tuning — including clutch weight adjustments, spring rate changes, helix angle setup, belt replacement, and deflection checks. We tune clutch setups based on your specific machine, tire size, elevation, and the type of riding you do — a clutch set up for sea-level pavement behaves differently at Southern Utah elevation and temperature. For Sand Hollow riders, that typically means a setup optimized for cooler belt temperatures under sustained dune load. Belt condition, sheave wear and clutch alignment get checked together rather than one at a time.

Belt intervals are worth knowing on your own platform. On the Can-Am Maverick X3, BRP's published Can-Am Maverick maintenance schedule calls for a 50-hour severe-duty belt check — and severe duty is what Southern Utah riding is. Sport Polaris machines have their own hour-based intervals, set out in the Polaris RZR maintenance schedule.

Suspension & Shock Repair & Service

We perform in-house shock repair, rebuild, and service for Fox, King, Elka, Walker Evans, and other major brands. A full rebuild includes seal replacement, fresh shock oil, internal component inspection, and re-valving when needed, with the valving matched to how the car is ridden and what it weighs with people and gear in it. Desert sand and dust accelerate seal wear and contaminate shock oil faster than most owners realize.

Beyond shock work, our UTV suspension diagnostics and repair covers A-arm inspection and replacement, radius rod condition, bearing play, tie rod and ball joint replacement, and UTV alignment correction — darting, wandering and a chewed inside tire edge are the symptoms that send a machine to the alignment rack. Slickrock and sand load bushings and bearings in a way pavement never does, so wear items get looked at as a set. For machines that see regular Sand Hollow use, we recommend shock service every 40–60 hours and suspension component inspection at the same interval. If the machine carries a powersports extended warranty or service contract, we can document the failure and submit the claim to your provider.

Electrical Diagnostics, Repair & Wiring Service

Electrical problems are among the trickiest issues to diagnose on modern powersports machines. Fine desert dust works its way into connectors, sensor harnesses, and control modules — causing intermittent faults, limp modes, and no-start conditions that are difficult to track down without proper diagnostic equipment.

Our technicians perform complete UTV electrical diagnostics, wiring repair, and accessory installation across all major powersports platforms. We also handle accessory wiring for lights, winches, communication systems, and aftermarket electronics — done correctly to avoid the ground faults and overloaded circuits we regularly see from improper installations.

Street-legal conversions run through the same bench: headlamps, tail and stop lamps, turn signals, plate light, horn, mirrors and an illuminated speedometer. The full equipment list is set by Utah Code 41-6a-1509 — see Utah street-legal ATV and UTV requirements for what the statute specifies, including the tire height and seat height limits.

Crash Repair, Accessories & Reliability Upgrades

From roll cage installs to forced-induction upgrades, we handle the reliability and performance work that keeps your machine safe and strong — see our full turbo & supercharger service for forced induction details. If the machine has been rolled or wrecked, the damage assessment, photo documentation and insurance estimate process lives on our UTV crash and insurance repair page.

The same section covers gear reduction and portal boxes for big-tire machines that lost low-speed control, tires mounted and balanced on site, and the fact that the Hunter HawkEye Elite rack that aligns lifted trucks in this building also aligns side-by-sides.

    Crash Repair & Drivetrain

Axles and CV joints, A-arms and radius rods, steering racks, differentials, and roll cage repair and inspection — covered in depth on our UTV crash repair page.

Built for Sand Hollow & Southern Utah Terrain

Sand Hollow State Park draws riders from across the United States and internationally — and for good reason. The mix of deep sand dunes on Sand Mountain, technical slickrock, rock crawling terrain, desert trails, and access to the Sand Hollow Reservoir and surrounding Warner Valley trail systems makes it one of the best off-road destinations in the country.

That terrain demands machines that are properly set up and maintained. Clutch cooling and tuning for sustained sand load, shock service for high-speed desert washboard, suspension setup for rocky trails, drivetrain reliability for technical terrain, and preventative maintenance to catch problems before they leave you stranded — that's what our Sand Hollow pre-ride service is built around. UTV owners should also follow the platform-specific manufacturer maintenance schedule — hours matter more than miles on these machines.

    Why MST Motorsports

MST Motorsports is a family-owned and operated shop with deep roots in the Southern Utah off-road community. We ride the same trails, know the same terrain, and understand what these machines need to stay reliable in conditions that factory service manuals don't always account for.

We diagnose the machine, tell you what we found, and quote the repair before starting. Shocks, clutches, drivetrain and electrical work are all handled in-house in Washington.

    Schedule Your Powersports Service

Diagnostics, clutch repair, a shock rebuild, electrical work, or a pre-ride check before the weekend — bring your machine by or call and we'll figure out what it needs. Shock and clutch work can be scheduled around a ride weekend when there is lead time. Serving Washington, St George, Hurricane, and the Sand Hollow area.
